How to become a member of Oldham MAC

About Model Flying

Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December.

The club seeks to promote a friendly environment for the sport/hobby of flying model aircraft and welcomes people of all ages and all ethnic backgrounds. It is the policy of the club, however that members must ensure they are fit and capable of flying a model safely in line with published BMFA guidelines – the club does not conduct assessments on member’s eyesight nor other key faculties required for this purpose – this remains at all times the sole responsibility of the member.

Fees are made up of three elements: BMFA membership/Insurance, CAA Registration and the club’s own registration fee. These fees are set / agreed at the AGM each December for the following year and take into account any increases in BMFA fees, CAA Registration and the financial health of the club at that time.

Each adult membership is allocated a free OMAC junior membership (Under 18 on the 1st of January on the year of membership, BMFA and CAA fees still apply).

Members wishing to remind themselves of the fees can at any time contact the club’s treasurer, secretary or Chairman; alternatively they can also consult the club’s website for this information.

The club treasurer is responsible for enrolling members in the BMFA and CAA. The club secretary maintains the database of members / members details.
